Romeo And Juliet Analysis
Romeo, in Romeo and Juliet, experiences a love of such purity and passion that he kills himself when he believes that the object of his love, Juliet, has died. The power of Romeo’s love, however, often obscures a clear vision of Romeo’s character, which is far more complex.

It is possible to describe Romeo as lacking the capacity for moderation. Love compels him to sneak into the garden of his enemy’s daughter, risking death simply to catch a glimpse of her. Anger compels him to kill his wife’s cousin in a reckless duel to avenge the death of his friend. Despair compels him to suicide upon hearing of Juliet’s death. Such extreme behavior dominates Romeo’s character throughout the play and contributes to the ultimate tragedy that befalls the lovers. Had Romeo restrained himself from killing Tybalt, or waited even one day before killing himself after hearing the news of Juliet’s death, matters might have ended happily.

Among his friends, especially while bantering with Mercutio, Romeo shows glimpses of his social personal. He is intelligent, quick-witted, fond of verbal jousting (particularly about sex), loyal, and unafraid of danger.
Response
The writer sees Romeo as a young male who acts to the unthinkable with everything he does. For example when he kills himself straight away when he hears that his true love Juliet has died without first finding out what happened. If he had done this he would have not killed himself for he would have learnt that Juliet was just faking her death in order to be with him and they would have lived happily ever after. This writer thinks that the youthful aspects of Romeo, his fatal flaws and that he doesn’t change throughout the course of this play. Which is true though he has some slight moments.

Romeo and Juliet "Revenge"
In this essay about Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, ill be describing one character which is Romeo Montague and ill explain why he helped me understand the idea revenge and its consequences.

Romeo Montague lives in Verona, Italy. He is a romantically inclined young man desperately in love with a lady called Rosaline until he meets Juliet Capulet the daughter of his families enemy. The Capulet’s and the Montague’s have had a bloody hatred towards each other for a long time. “It’s an ancient grudge that breaks into new mutiny”.

I enjoyed reading about Romeo and Juliet because of his youthful nature. When there would be an event in the play whether it was, a good happy event or a bad event, Romeo would usually act on his feelings and what he had in his mind. Romeo wouldn’t stop and think about what he would do but he would just act as the ultimate opportunist. Most of his impulsiveness, irrational decisions that he does are because of his deep, infection of love towards Juliet. An example of this is when he climbs over the Capulet’s wall, goes to the Capulet’s orchard just to see Juliet and proclaim his love to her. This was a very risky and life threatening move because if the guards caught him he would’ve been as good as dead. It’s amazing what Romeo would do just to see Juliet.

One idea in Romeo and Juliet is the idea of “revenge”. Throughout the play there were many acts of revenge from the two opposing sides, the Capulet’s and the Montague’s kept seeking for revenge on each other. Romeo helped me understand this idea of revenge through some of his impulsive actions and decisions he made. An example of one of these actions is when Romeo killed Tybalt. This took place after Tybalt killed Mercutio ho was Romeo’s best friend. Romeo had come between Mercutio and Tybalt to try and break up the fight but Tybalt sneakily stabbed Mercutio and ran off. Romeo was too furious to stop and think of the consequences of him going after Tybalt but ultimately says “this but begins the woe, others must end”. He is saying that he is going to end tybalts life before he lets the tragedy pass. He is pretty much declaring and vowing the revenge of Tybalt. Romeo carries these vows and ultimately kills Tybalt. In this section of the play, Romeo helps me understand the idea “revenge” simply because he takes revenge on Tybalt. He shows us revenge in action. Romeo also helps me understand the idea revenge by gate crashing the Capulet’s party. Benvolio, Mercutio and Romeo all find out a party the Capulet’s are having and Mercutio has an invitation to go to the party. They go to the party and after a while Tybalt spots Romeo. Tybalt is so outraged that he pulls a sword on him and tries to kill him there. However, to his digust he is stoped by his master who tells him to let the matter be. Tybalt says, “I will withdraw but this intrusion shall, now seeming sweet, convert to bitter gall. Tybalt says that he will not do anything yet but will eventually get his revenge on Romeo for what he’s done.

This event shows me throughout this play that revenge is a constantly repeated like if its in a cycle and never stops like when Tybalt killed Mercutio, Romeo got revenge on Tybalt by killing him. Tybalt doesn’t forget what romeo had done, but neither does anyone else in the play forget the revenge they owe someone.

In Romeo and Juliet I enjoyed reading about the character and seeing the play. I enjoyed reading about him because of his impulsiveness and how he is compared to us because of his youthful age, he shows us constantly through the decisions he makes in the play.
